{"id":1844,"date":"2020-10-06T10:34:30","date_gmt":"2020-10-06T09:34:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theofficialboard.com\/best-articles\/?p=1844"},"modified":"2020-11-02T12:21:55","modified_gmt":"2020-11-02T11:21:55","slug":"warren-buffet-says-4-choices-in-life-separate-the-doers-from-the-dreamers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theofficialboard.com\/best-articles\/2020-09\/warren-buffet-says-4-choices-in-life-separate-the-doers-from-the-dreamers\/","title":{"rendered":"Warren Buffet says 4 choices in life separate the doers from the dreamers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inc.com\/marcel-schwantes\/warren-buffett-says-4-choices-in-life-separate-doers-from-dreamers.html\"><em>Viewed in Inc.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Global business and finance icons have many extraordinary attributes, but it\u2019s rare to find many whose public comments and words resonate throughout the world and sometimes end up leading to vast rethinking of established business norms and practices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Warren Buffet, the legendary chief executive officer of Berkshire Hathaway, the U.S.-based multinational business conglomerate that took in $247.5 billion in revenue last year (making it the eighth largest public in company) has carved out a reputation for his ability to provide meaningful and yet shockingly simple statements that assume their place as truisms in global business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s one of the reasons that gave rise to Buffet\u2019s nickname, the \u201cOracle of Omaha.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Buffet turned 90 on August 30, and <em>Inc. <\/em>used the occasion to highlight four of the nonagenarian\u2019s simple but deeply meaningful statements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201cPick your friends wisely.\u201d <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Buffet originally offered this guidance in a college speech, emphasizing that \u201cyou will move in the direction of the people that you associate with. So it\u2019s important to associate with people better than yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201cGo to bed a little smarter every day.\u201d <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The Oracle of Omaha reportedly spends roughly 80 percent of his day reading, and there\u2019s a reason. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He says that a key to success is continual learning, and reading is the method through which that goal is most easily achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201cImprove your communication skills\u201d <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Buffet believes that the process of continual improvement is not just vital but that continual improvement of communication skills has the ability to improve one\u2019s worth by 50 percent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One should seek to continually improve written and verbal skills, Buffet has said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201cSay no\u201d<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Being drawn into unproductive things is tempting and perhaps the easiest way to undermine one\u2019s focus on the hugely important things, Buffet says. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staying focused on saying \u201cyes\u201d to the select things that matter most while simultaneously saying \u201cno\u201d to the many distractive undertakings that we encounter daily keeps one focused on key goals and priorities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Viewed in Inc.
